The SFA Mast Arboretum is a magnificent garden along LaNana creek at Stephen F. Austin State University, Nacogdoches, Texas. Started in 1985, this was the first arboretum at a university in Texas. Over the years, the gardens have expanded into one of the most diverse collection of plants in the South. The Mast Arboretum is dedicated to acquiring, testing, introducing and promoting new plants for the landscape and nursery industry in the southern USA. The 39 acre garden contains over 10,000 species of rare trees, shrubs, vines, ground covers, and flowers all within 20 themed gardens.

These aren’t especially interesting photo’s, but I feel they are a nice sampling of the beautful flowers to be found there….

  2. Beautiful flowers! Seems like an interesting garden and a good place for photography. I like nr 5 with it’s selective focus on the pink flowers. Great captures.
