A fine series with such a successful capture of the action. I too felt the creature looked helicopter like in one of the shots. You asked about the depth of Lake Coeur d’Alene – it is 220 feet at the deepest.
Thanks,
This was an exercise in patience! Had i used my Nikkormat it would have taken 30 rolls of film…
These creatures are soooo incredibly fast! If they weren’t territorial, and landing on the same spots I never could have managed it. My method was to lay down in the river, focus and shoot like mad in order to get a few usable images. One of the great benefits of Digital!
Thanks again ya’ll for the nice comments, they are truly appreciated! 😀
Excellent series! Nr 5 is my favourite. Landing on the big rock seems like a miniature helicopter! Very well done.
Exquisite details!!!

agree with pernilla, nr 5 is awesome as the little guy looks directly in the camera, almost like a pixar movie :)))
the dof on the top one is really nice. gives an extra kick.
Wow, those are some crazy shots you got, very nice!
Really nice wildlife series. Well done.
