A fine series on the ubiquitous hummers that seem to be everywhere mid-summer. I especially like the latter images where the hummingbird is against a lighter background which give him nice visibility. A fine series.

I realized the clutter at once in the first images and quickly moved to a better vantage point to eliminate it.
This is where a tripod comes in handy, for I stood there a good twenty minutes at the ready… awaiting It’s return.
Images of these energetic fliers have always fascinated me, and it feels like an accomplishment to have captured a few of my own.
I enjoyed your series again today. You asked when I had taken the bridge shot of yesterday. I got my Rolleiflex in the 1970s after I’d moved away from Salem… so I would guess it was taken on a return trip in the mid 1970s… I do go back a bit of a distance! 🙂
Amazing bird! Really great work in this series. Love the pictures when you see the single flower and the bird. Would like to see one of these for real.
Nice hummingbird shots. I never have much luck. They come to the feeders in my back yard, but they are so flighty because of the wasps are too aggressive going after the sugar water.
