The tick-marks visible on the pier designate a measurement of 4o feet. On June 14, 1935 the Llano crested at 42 feet sweeping away the previously existing bridge. Standing at the base looking up, it is hard to imagine such a deluge!

Interesting story and a beautiful series. It must have been a quite impressive scene in 1935 when the bridge was being washed away!
