10-22-2010 Lost Mine Peak

Lost Mine Peak has an elevation of 7535′, and is located at latitude – longitude coordinates of N 29.27576 and W -103.25823.
The Lost Mine Peak was named after an old Spanish legend. Supposedly, the legend states that if a man stood in the door of the chapel at Presidio San Vicente on Easter morning, he could see the sun’s first rays strike Lost Mine Peak on the exact mine entrance 18 miles away… After just one visit to the Park, I tend to think the treasures here are more spiritual than material.
