07-25-2012 Heroes improve Southside Park

Lowe’s Home Improvement supports the communities it serves through programs that focus on K-12 public education and community improvement projects. Lowe’s Heroes from seven area stores converged this week to construct new dugouts and shaded seating areas at the Golden Community Park baseball field. The facility will be used by police officers to encourage positive engagement between the officers and local youth. Lowe’s Heroes won’t be alone, the Daughters of Charity, Friends of Golden Park and City of San Antonio work alongside volunteers from the San Antonio Police Department over a period of three days to make the improvements. Friday July 27, from 5:30-7pm area residents are both invited and encouraged to come enjoy the new amenities of this wonderful community park.
